Florence Huey Vinton, age 101, of Morgantown, West Virginia, and a former longtime resident of Point Marion, Pennsylvania, died Friday, September 29, 2006, in The Madison Center, Morgantown, where she had been a resident for the past ten years. She was born October 4, 1904, in Mannington, West Virginia, the daughter of James E. and Anna Burchinal Huey.

For many years, she was a faithful member of the First Baptist Church of Point Marion, the Anti-Can’t Sunday School Class and the Keenager’s Club.

She retired as a Postmistress at the Point Marion Post Office.

Her husband, Warren E. Vinton on July 22, 2000, her brothers, Forrest Huey and Ernest Huey, and sisters, Josephine Cope, Leah Provance and Geraldine Siriani, predeceased her.

Surviving are several nieces and nephews and her caregivers, Charles and Joyce Chabanik of Smithfield.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pennsylvania, on Tuesday, October 3, from noon until 2 p.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating.

Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion.
