Melzina Kennison Wilson
Melzina Kennison Wilson, age 85, of Smithfield, Pa., passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, October 1, 2006. She was born January 14, 1921, in Haydentown, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of John Kennison and Donna Mae Kissinger Kennison.
Melzina attended the White House Free Methodist Church.
She was an avid flower gardener and seamstress and was a very devoted, loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Ronald F. “Barney” Wilson, two grandchildren, Seth and Kyle, brothers, John, Frank, Joseph, Otha, David and Charles Kennison, and sisters, Emma Kennison Lewis, Eliza Kennison, Mary Ellen Kennison and Nancy Kennison.
Surviving are her loving children: Donna Rossman and her husband Charles, Norwalk, Ohio, Gregg Wilson and his wife Wilma, McClellandtown, Pa., and Debra Barnes and her husband Mark, Smithfield, Pa.; six grandchildren: Suzanne Kuhlman and her husband Donald, Sheri Rommell and her husband Mark, John Rossman and his wife Marlo, Greg S. Wilson, Desiree Deli and her husband Rob and Marcus Barnes; six great-grandchildren: Michael, Garrett, Alexis, Donna, Derek and Kaden; and one sister, Iona Whoolery and her husband Earl, Mesa, Arizona.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, October 5, 2006, until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. George W. McLaughlin officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
