Man charged

State police said charges will be filed against an 18-year-old Waynesburg man who told police he had been robbed at gunpoint while skateboarding along Willow Drive near the Franklin Township Fire Hall at 4:30 p.m. Saturday. Police said investigations showed no robbery had occurred. The man will be charged with giving false reports to law enforcement authorities, police said.

Uniontown

Man cited

James Edward Moore of Uniontown was cited for public drunkenness and disorderly conduct following an incident on North Gallatin Avenue at 6:22 p.m. Saturday.

Farmington

Shed burglarized

Stephen Parreco of Silver Springs, Md., told state police someone burglarized a tool shed on his Laurel Caverns Road property and removed several items, police said, noting that the incident was reported at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Brass stolen

State police said someone broke into the Laurel Hill Presbyterian Church on Laurel Hill Road and stole several brass items, including a brass cross and two brass offering plates between 1 p.m. Sept. 24 and 11:45 a.m. Saturday.

Vehicle entered

Benita Mosley, 54, of McClellandtown told state police someone entered her locked vehicle while it was parked at 6 Wall St. sometime Tuesday or Wednesday, police said.

Man cited

John R. Billetz of Greensboro was cited for retail theft after he allegedly attempted to steal approximately $76 worth of groceries from the Masontown Shop ‘n Save at 8 p.m. Friday, state police said.

Man cited

Joshua M. Boni, 20, of Washington, was cited for public drunkenness and the underage drinking after he was found intoxicated on Fourth Street in California at 2:40 a.m. Saturday, borough police said.

Teens cited

One Uniontown teenager was cited with disorderly conduct and harassment and a second teen was cited for disorderly conduct after an altercation at 60 Cleveland Ave. in Uniontown at 5:21 p.m. Sunday, Uniontown police said.

Cars collide

Vehicles driven by Gloria Galie of Brownsville and Carl Lama Jr. of Newell collided on Route 40 at 2:40 p.m. Saturday, state police said.

Three-car crash

State police said no one was injured when vehicles driven by William Holzapfel of Uniontown, Danielle Inks of Uniontown and Barbara Grashion of Brownsville collided on Route 40 at 9:30 p.m. Friday.

Homes damaged

State police said vandals shooting paintballs damaged homes owned by Bernard Karpel, Patricia Yocabet and Linda Clark, all of Adah, as well as homes owned by Charles Yocabet, William Snyder, John Amantenuti and William Seese, all of East Millsboro. The homes all are located on East Riverside Road. The vandalism occurred between 9 and 10 p.m. Saturday, police said.

Man charged

Christopher Lewis of Scottdale was charged with harassment after an altercation with Lynn Lewis, also of Scottdale, at a residence on Kelly Street at 3 p.m. Friday, stat police said.

Redstone Twp.

Two charged

State police said Dayna McMaster of Brownsville and Clarence Blair III of Cardale were each charged with simple assault before Magisterial District Judge Dwight Shaner after an altercation at a home on Main Street in Cardale at 5:45 a.m. Saturday. Both McMaster and Blair were treated at the Uniontown Hospital for their injuries and were then placed in the Fayette County Prison on $5,000 bond, police said.

Attempted burglary

State police said someone damaged a door while trying to break into Hennessy’s Bar in Republic at 2:30 a.m. Monday.

Luzerne Twp.

Window damaged

Vandals broke a window with a beer bottle at the Luzerne Township Volunteer Fire Department on Labelle Road between 12:30 and 1:30 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

Connellsville

Investigations continue

Police are conducting investigations into the following unrelated incidents:

– A Sept. 25 burglary when someone entered a vacant residence located in the 300 block of East Crawford Avenue and removed unspecified items and vandalized the home.

– A Sept. 25 theft of a black quad with red and white stripes from a residence located in the 1000 block of South Pittsburgh Street.

– A Sept. 23 criminal mischief when some damaged the porch and banister of a residence located in the 100 block of West Cedar Avenue.

– A Sept. 23 criminal mischief when someone slashed the tires of two vehicles parked in the 1100 block of Sycamore Street.

– A Sept. 21 theft of a cellular telephone from the York Bar.

– A Sept. 19 criminal mischief when two vehicles parked in the 100 block of Davis Street was struck with eggs.

– A Sept. 28 theft of four radio-controlled cars and two spray guns from a residence located in the 1200 block of South Pittsburgh Street.

– A Sept. 26 theft of a silver diamond ring from the Connellsville Area Career and Technical Center. Police said the ring has a central diamond with four smaller diamonds on each side with a total weight of one carat.

– A Sept. 26 theft of a DVD player from an unlocked vehicle parked in the 100 block of East Peach Street.

– A Sept. 26 theft of a cell phone from an unlocked vehicle parked along Trump Avenue.

Connellsville

Charges filed

Police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:

– A 14-year-old female of Connellsville with harassment, after she allegedly punched and kicked an unidentified female juvenile during a Sept. 21 incident along Snyder Street.

– Zachary R. Brown, 21, of Connellsville with trespassing, after he was allegedly found violating a trespass order Sept. 22 in North Manor.

– Michael D. Reese, 24, of Connellsville with disorderly conduct, after he allegedly struck an unidentified male during a Sept. 23 incident in the 100 block of Porter Avenue.

– Andre L. Brown, 35, of Connellsville with public drunkenness, after he was allegedly found intoxicated in the 300 block of West Fayette Street on Sept. 24.

– Richard T. Shultz, 30, of Monongahela with retail theft, after he allegedly failed to pay for gasoline pumped at the Shop ‘n Save Fuel Depot on Sept. 26.

– Kimberly Katona, 41, of South Connellsville, with theft after she allegedly stole money from South Side Grocery where she was employed as a cashier.

Connellsville

Woman charged

Police have charged a Connellsville woman with not providing sanitary conditions for her 9-month-old daughter after investigating officers allegedly found rotting food and milk throughout the residence.

Christal Lynn Thomas, 20, of 1113 Vine St. is charged with a single felony count of child endangerment in connection with the Sept. 24 incident.

According to the criminal complaint filed with the office of Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty, when police entered the home dirty clothes, garbage and rotten baby bottles were allegedly found to be cluttering the floors with rotting food on counters and in the refrigerator.

Police additionally found two baby bottles with rotting milk in the child’s crib, which also contained a moldy substance, according to the court document.

The residence also had “thousands of gnats” flying throughout the house and were on the baby’s items lying around the house.

A preliminary hearing will be held before Haggerty at a later date.
