George J. Petro
George J. Petro, 76, of Chalk Hill, formerly of Uniontown and Hopwood, Pa., died on Monday, October 2, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born July 30, 1930, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Michael and Katherine (Veno) Petro.
George was a graduate of Uniontown High School Class of 1949, where he played football and basketball, he was the owner of Petro’s Store on Searight Avenue in Uniontown for 54 years, and was a member of the Elks BPO #370, George was an avid sports fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Frank and Michael Petro.
Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Agatha (Lukotch) Petro, three brothers, Edward (Junaita) Petro of Uniontown, Pa., Charles Petro of Uniontown, Pa. and John Petro of Hopwood, Pa.; and sister, Irene Petro of Florida; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Extension, Uniontown, Pa on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, October 7, 2006, until 10 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held with the Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil officiating.
Interment will follow in Saint Mary’s Cemetery Uniontown with Rev. Dale Rexrode officiating the Committal Service.
