Burnett “Butch” Flipper” Brown, 61, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly on October 4, 2006, in Buffington, Pa., surrounded by his loving family. Burnett was preceded in death by his mother, Nellie Brown, father, Homer Jones and one brother, Ervin Brown.

Burnett worked 25 years for the Herald-Standard and seven years for the school district. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed Saturday fishing with special friend Raymond Asbury.

He also enjoyed watching and special time with his great nieces and nephews, Latavia, Joseph, Robert, Sara, Nina, Leroy, Jr., Jariah, Mya, Patty, Kasheek and Daja.

He leaves to cherish his memory a brother, Leroy Brown of Fairbank, Alaska; a special sister-in-law, Edna Brown of Buffington; two nieces, Laressa and Nellie Brown of Buffington; two nephews Leroy Brown, Jr. of Fairbank, Alaska and Eric Brown of Uniontown; two aunts, Mary Brown of Uniontown and Nebo Brown of Brooklyn, New York; and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa. where viewing will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.

A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, October 11, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Funeral Home. The Bishop Leonard A. Tucker officiating.

Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
