Antonette Check Guzur
Antonette “Toni” (Check) Guzur, 86, a former resident of Bailey Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., died Monday, October 9, 2006, at Havencrest Nursing home, Monongahela, Pa. She was born on January 1, 1920 in Marguerite, Westmoreland County, Pa., a daughter of the late John Check (Szczech) and Caroline (Yaras) Check.
Preceding her in death where her husband Joseph Guzur, her parents, a brother Joseph Check, and sisters, Magdaline Zuzak, Nellie Madejczyk, Julia Nerone and Josephine Check.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Francis “Frank” Guzur and wife Ernestine of Charleroi, Pa. and Cecelia Tresky and husband Charles of Fredrick, Maryland; grandchildren, Jenifer Bettinelli and husband Bob; Richard Guzur, Matthew Guzur and Charles J. “C.J.” Tresky; great-grandchildren, Jessica Bettinelli and Natalie Bettinelli; sisters, Mary Vitelle of Spring, Texas, Ann Lucas of New Iberia, Louisiana and Mildred Horak of McClellandtown, Pa.; and several loving nieces and nephews.
“Toni” was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church and a former member of Saint Mary’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She will be deeply missed by her loving children, cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dear sisters, and nieces and nephews. She will also be greatly missed by her neighbors and many friends.
Friends will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, this evening from 7 to 9 p.m., Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, October 13, 2006, until 9:15 p.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at Saint Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery in Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be conducted on Thursday at 2:30 p.m.
