Joseph William Shaffer, 71, of Smithfield, Pa., died Sunday, October 8, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. Friends will be received in the BERNARD M. TOWNSEND FUNERAL HOME, 220 South Main Street, Masontown, on Thursday until 11 a.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Justin Agrabright officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
