Community calendar – Oct. 15
FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 114 W. Church St., Fairchance, will hold a buckwheat, pancake and sausage brunch on Saturday at the church from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tickets are $7 for adults and $3 for children and may be purchased at the door. Children under age 6 may eat free. MENDED HEARTS INC., Mountain State Chapter 209, will meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday at the patient education room, 10th floor of Ruby Memorial Hospital. There is no social hour.
SENIOR CITIZENS luncheon at the Hopwood United Methodist Church will be served a noon on Wednesday in the social room.
FRANKLIN GRANGE 1169 will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday. Refreshments will be served following the meeting.
HOPWOOD VILLAGE PROJECT will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the South Union Township Administration Building.
FLATWOODS FIRE DEPARTMENT will hold a buckwheat supper from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday at Curfew Grange. Tickets are $6 for adults and $3 for children, ages 4 to 10, and free for age 3 and younger. A bake sale will be held. Donations will be accepted.
NEARLY NEW SHOP, located in the basement of the Hopwood United Methodist Church, will be open form 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday.
