Teen charged
State police at Belle Vernon filed charges with Fayette County Juvenile Court against a 16-year-old male from White for allegedly stealing $50 from his 82-year-old grandmother who lives in Everson. According to police, the theft occurred on Brown Street in Everson at 10 a.m. Friday.

Bow, coins stolen
According to state police at Belle Vernon, someone forcibly entered Phillip DeWitt’s residence on Stuckslager Road in Grindstone and stole a PSE bow valued at $850 and about $1,500 in coins. The burglary occurred between noon and 2:30 p.m. Friday.

Car, truck collide
A garbage truck driven by James R. Groh Jr., 29, of Connellsville and a car driven by Dawn Kolenc, 48, of West Newton collided Friday morning on Route 126 near Route 201. State police at Belle Vernon said Kolenc’s car sustained severe damage and she had moderate injuries. Kolenc suffered chest pains and was flown from the scene by emergency medical helicopter. An investigation is continuing.

Pipe stolen
According to state police at Belle Vernon, someone stole 25 pieces of 42-foot-long pipe from an Atlas America gas well construction site near Brownsville Road in Jefferson Township. The pipe is yellow-coated, 2-inch steel pipe. The theft occurred between noon Wednesday and 3 p.m. Thursday.

Junked cars tagged
City police on Saturday tagged five vehicles on Millview Street with expired or missing registration or inspections. Police were told about the vehicles during a Gallatin Avenue Concerned Citizens meeting. Orange stickers were placed on the vehicles informing the owners that they had 24 hours to move the vehicles or they will be towed, police said.

Elsie Cornish of 60 Cleveland Ave. told city police Saturday that someone used a rock to break a window at her home overnight. Damage was estimated at $200, police said.

Burglary reported
Michelle Greenwald of 62 E. Kerr St. told city police that she left her home around 1 p.m. Friday and returned home around 3 p.m. to discover that someone had stolen her Sony Play Station, 10 games and two memory cards. Greenwald said she had not locked the door to her home because her boyfriend was in the house sleeping. The boyfriend told police he did not see or hear anything, police said.

Decorations damaged
Tammy Sabol of 115 Cleveland Ave. told city police that someone, possibly children, damaged a small skeleton Halloween decoration she had outside her home. The incident was reported shortly before 11 p.m. Friday, according to police.

Car stolen
Lumont E. Shannon of 206 E. Coffey St. told city police that he parked his car at his home around 9:20 p.m. Friday and noticed around 6 a.m. Saturday that it was missing. The vehicle is beige 2002 Cadillac Escalade, police said.

Suspected drugs found
Two plastic sandwich bags containing suspected cocaine were found on the floor of the A-Plus on Connellsville Street Friday afternoon. The owner of the store called city police after discovering the suspected drugs around 4:30 p.m. Surveillance video shows a white female with long dark hair reaching into her pocket and the bags falling out as she took her hand back out of the pocket, but police were not able to identify the woman on the tape.
According to police, the suspected cocaine will be field tested, then used for K-9 training.

Accident probed
Uniontown police said no one was injured in a two-vehicle accident at 4:32 p.m. Friday. The accident occurred when vehicles driven by Deborah Mills of 12 Shady Lane and Daniel Lovis of 11 Mountain View Road collided at the intersection of Searights and Park avenues.

Windows broken
Jenna Winning told city police she was washing her vehicle inside Region Buick, which is owned by her father, when rocks came through the window of the business and struck her vehicle. Winning told police she saw two males between the ages of 15 and 17 go down the railroad tracks toward Fayette Street. One teen was described as black, with a heavy build and wearing a white Uniontown sweatsuit, according to police. The other was black, with a thin build and was wearing a dark colored hooded sweatshirt and dark pants, police said. The incident occurred around 5:40 p.m. Friday.
