Edward C. Crick
Edward C. Crick, age 87, of 214 Gray Avenue, Masontown, Pa., passed away on Friday, October 13, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. Mr. Crick was born in Masontown, Pennsylvania, on February 24, 1919, the son of William G. Crick and Elizabeth (Brooks) Crick.
He was coal mine mechanic for 34 years at Duquesne Light, Greensboro, Pa.
Mr. Crick was a veteran of World War II who served in the United States Army as a Staff Sergeant.
“Ed” was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 423 and Life Member of the Faith-Gray-McArdle Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4584 both in Masontown.
He was also a member of All Saints Roman Catholic Church in Masontown, the Messmore Rod and Gun Club, the Pals Athletic Club and the Bocce Team.
On September 1, 1942, in Baltimore, Maryland, he married Madelyn Ann (Spurio) Crick, who survives. Together they celebrated 64 years of marriage.
“Ed” was preceded in death by his mother and father, his sister, Mary E. Crick Dindl, and a nephew, Robert Dindl.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR. FUNERAL HOME, corner of Church at 7 River Avenue, Masontown, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 18, until 9:30 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in All Saints Roman Catholic Church, Masontown, with the Rev. Father John M. Butler as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Agnes Cemetery, Masontown, where Military Rites and Honors will be accorded at graveside by the Masontown Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Masontown American Legion.
Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
