Community calendar – Oct. 17
ROSA GARIBALDI LODGE 1818 will meet at 6:30 p.m. today in the lodge hall. Halloween party for members only will be held. Members are encouraged to wear costumes. Calvary untied Methodist Church, 34 Clark St., Uniontown, will hold its spaghetti dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday in the church fellowship hall. Take-out dinners will be available. Containers will be provided.
ST. NICHOLAS BYZANTINE CHURCH, Perryopolis, will hold its fourth annual ethnic dinner on Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. in the social hall. Take-out orders will be available from noon to 1 p.m., bring your own containers. Dinners are $7.50 and include kielbasi/sauerkraut, pirohi, holupki, halushki, green beans, salad, dessert and beverage.
UNITED WAR VETERANS of Uniontown will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at the VFW Post 47, West Main Street, Uniontown. It is sponsored by the Fleet Reserve Association. Veteran’s Day program in Masontown will be discussed.
SAMARITAN WELL, 70 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, will offer a class on sewing window treatments on Nov. 1 from 6 to 9 p.m. Cist is $10 per person. Class size is limited. For more information, call 724-439-1780.
TURKEYFOOT VALLEY AREA SCHOOL DISTRICT will hold its seventh annual calendar party on Nov. 4. Crafts, gift certificates, theme baskets for the Chinese auction are needed. HARMONY PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, Route 51 and Harmony Church Road, will hold an old-fashioned all-you-can-eat buckwheat, pancake and sausage supper on Saturday from 4 to 7 p.m. A bake sale and bazaar will also be held. Cost is $7 for adults and $3.50 for children age 10 and younger. Take-outs will be available.
CHRIST UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, corner or Fayette Street and Beeson Avenue, Uniontown, will hold a bazaar on Nov. 3 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Luncheons will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and roast beef dinners, 4 to 7 p.m. Take-out or eat-in meals will be available.
