Parade details outlined

The 69th annual Halloween parade in downtown Uniontown begins at 6 p.m. Oct. 25. Sponsored by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 of Uniontown and radio stations Froggy 94.9 and Pickle 99.3, the parade will feature local high school marching bands, mummers and small floats, and will proceed regardless of the weather.

VFW Post 47 lifetime member Lou Giachetti is the parade marshal.

Bands from Uniontown Area Senior High School, Laurel Highlands Junior High School, Frazier High School, Geibel Catholic High School, Brownsville Area High School, Ben Franklin School, Laurel Highlands High School and the VFW Post 47 National Band.

Mummers and floats will be placed between bands. Bands, mummers and floats will line up on East Penn Street.

All mummers who participate will receive tickets for two cash drawings at the VFW hall.

Political advertising is not permitted in the parade.

The parade route is Gallatin Avenue to West Main Street to the VFW, where judging will take place.

Cash prizes will be awarded in all age groups including prizes for the best Halloween costume and best float.
