Suspect held
Todd Bell, 43, of 220 Houston Ave., Connellsville, waived charges of impersonating a public servant, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct to Fayette County Court Thursday prior to a scheduled preliminary hearing before Magisterial District Judge Ronald Haggerty. According to the criminal complaint, Bell allegedly presented himself as a state constable to Tom Monosky in Connellsville on Sept. 7 to persuade him to turn over his child to its mother.
The child’s mother reportedly told officers that she thought Bell was a constable as he had identified himself as one and had attempted to negotiate a $20 fee for his services, said police.
