Henry Frankovitch, 77, of California, Pa., died Saturday, October 21, 2006, following a brief illness. He was born September 10, 1929, in Monesson, Pa., the son of the late Amel and Mary Hall Frankovitch.

Mr. Frankovitch was a veteran of the United States Army having served during the Korean War. He had been employed by Page Steel & Wire of Monesson for over 15 years as a wire hooker and laborer. He later had been employed by Penn Biringham Bolt Company of Scenery Hill for 15 years as a bolt header and threader. Mr. Frankovitch enjoyed working and continued until his illness prevented him from doing so.

He was a member of the John F. Kennedy American Legion Post 377 of California, Pa. and also the United Steel Workers of America. He enjoyed country western music and dancing.

On October 3, 1954, he married Mary L. Hall Frankovitch who survives.

Also surviving are three sons: Danny Frankovitch of Cossopolis, Michigan, William Frankovitch of Dallastown, Pa. and Henry E. Frankovitch of Maryland; four daughters: Janet Mounts of California, Pa., Susan Frankovitch of California, Pa., Mary Jane Schaum of Covington, Kentucky and Ann Marie Jenkins of West Brownsville, Pa.; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to his parents, is one sister, Eleanore Lambert.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, Rt. 40, Beallsville, Pa. where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, October 25, 2006.

Entombment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

The John F. Kennedy American Legion Post 377 of California, Pa. will conduct services in the funeral home at 7 p.m. on Tuesday and will accord full graveside military rites on Wednesday.
