Patsy W. Franks
Patsy W. Franks, 85, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 21, 2006, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born in Uniontown, Pa., on September 19, 1921, son of the late Ralph and Mary Giordano Franks (Fociani).
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Judge William J. Franks and Louis J. Franks.
Patsy was a graduate of Uniontown High School, Class of 1939. He was also a veteran of World War II serving with the United States Army and was in the European Theater. He was a member of Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church where he was a former usher and a member of the Uniontown Senior Citizens Club. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 where he was a past Post Commander from 1969 to 1970 and he was a member of the All State Team of Post Commanders from 1969 to 1970. He was a former Steward with the AmVets in Hopwood.
Patsy is survived by a sister, Sara J. Petro and husband, Patsy, two brothers, Julius J. Franks and Ralph C. Franks and wife, Monica all of Uniontown; four nieces: Mary Ann Grossman, Patty Gulino, Paula O’Connell and Regina Franks and a nephew, David W. Franks; one great-niece and three great-nephews and several cousins.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday evening from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, October 25, 2006, until 9 a.m. at which time a Blessing Service will be held. A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Kenneth Zaccagnini, V.F. as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery where military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions should be sent to Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill Street, Uniontown, Pa. or to the Veterans of Foreign War Post 47, 142 West Main Street, Uniontown.
