Trick or treat change

The Borough of Perryopolis has changed the trick or Treat date from Oct. 30 to Oct. 29 from 5 to 7 p.m. The annual Halloween parade will still be held in the town circle on Oct. 30 at 6 p.m.

American Legion

American Legion Post 752 members are reminded that after Dec. 20 dues for 2007 will be $21 because of an increase by the National Committee. This increase is permanent.

If you are thinking about becoming a paid-for-life member, now is the best time to do it. There is also a one-year

payment plan in place.

Frazier library news

The Frazier Community Library will sponsor a “Sitting Pretty” silent auction/fundraiser.

The library is requesting donations of the following items in good repair: chairs, stools, benches, small tables, desks, rockers, etc. (both child and adult sizes).

The library is calling on area artists willing to donate time and talent to paint one of the donated pieces with literary themes varying from whimsical to serious.

“Sitting Pretty” will a held in the fall of 2007 (date to be announced) at the Frazier Community Library.

Hand painted by area artists, the donated pieces will be come part of the “Sitting Pretty” silent auction collection to be presented at this fun and unique event.

Book Club

The Frazier Community Library Book Club will meet on Monday at 7 p.m. to discuss the book “Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafon. New members are welcome to join.

Story Hour

Children’s Story Hour will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to noon at the library.

Christening

Roy and Connie Fuller recently traveled to Tennessee for the christening of their new grandson, Preston James Fuller, born on June 17. Preston has two sisters, Kaylee Ann, who was 3 years old on Sept. 22, and Kristen Elizabeth, who is 8 years old.

Proud parents are Jeffrey and Melissa Brown Fuller. Connie Fuller is the owner and operator of Creations gift shop in Perryopolis.

Smock Historical

The Smock Historical Society will hold its annual Christmas nut roll sale this December.

The price of each roll is $7. Nut, poppyseed, apricot and prune rolls will be available. Orders may be placed until Dec. 9 by calling Rita at 724-677-2415.

Pickup for the rolls will be on Dec. 16 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Smock Community Center. All proceeds benefit the Smock Historical Society.

Clothing drive

The Perryopolis Knights of Columbus 4427 will hold a clothing drive to benefit the St. Vincent De Paul store in Uniontown. Clean, previously owned clothing may be dropped off at the basement entrance to St. John’s Catholic Church in Perryopolis the week of Nov. 13-17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. No shoes will be accepted.

Dean’s list

Tina Mickey, a senior at Frazier, attends Laurel Business Institute in Uniontown. She achieved a 4.0 this summer and was placed on the dean’s list. She is the daughter of Charlotte and Rick Mickey of Perryopolis.

Craft classes

Creations is now scheduling for craft classes. Class size is limited to 12 people at a time. Cost includes all supplies, beverage and a snack.
