Dance planned American Legion Post 762 in Trotter will hold its Halloween dance from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Saturday.

Costumes are optional and there is a cover charge. The kitchen will be open from 9 to 11 p.m. The post’s Ladies Auxiliary is sponsoring the dance. The band “Quiet Storm” will provide entertainment.

Festivities announced

The Fayette Chamber of Commerce, in cooperation with the Uniontown Downtown Business District Authority, and Commercial Center Associates has announced that Light-Up Night will be held Thursday, Nov. 16.

The festivities will begin with a parade (including the arrival of Santa Claus) beginning at 5:30 p.m. Marching unit and float entries still are being accepted. After the parade, local choirs will be located along Main Street, and most city shops will be open. The organizational committee also is seeing interested choral groups. Groups wishing to participate should call Commercial Center Associates at 724-437-1750 for more information.
