Barbara Ann Sholtis Keener, 65, of Fairchance, Pa., died Friday, October 20, 2006, in Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born July 17, 1941, in Continental Two, Pa., daughter of the late Mary Morganisky Sholtis.

She was predeceased by her mother and one sister, Mary Kay Sholtis.

Surviving are her husband, Frederick Keener; two sons: Andrew Keener of Fairchance, Pa. and Matthew Keener and his wife, Alexandra of Las Vegas, Nevada; her father, Andy Sholtis of Continental Two, Pa.; one sister, Bernadette Ptak and her husband, John of Uniontown, Pa.; and one brother, Andrew Sholtis and his wife, Donna of Uniontown, Pa.

In loving memory of Barbara: “Life is like a day, it must have a beginning and an end. Like the trees at fall, nothing ever really dies, it just becomes a part of something else. You’ve touched our lives forever, and forever you’ll be remembered. We love you very much”.

Barbara was a schoolteacher in the Albert Gallatin School District for 25 years and a member of Ss. Cyril and Methodist Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, Pa.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at 10 a.m., in Ss. Cyril and Methodius Roman Catholic Church, Fairchance, Pa., with the Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki as Celebrant.

Arrangement are under the direction of the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa.
