Clarence E. “Junior” Matthews, Jr., 56, of Connellsville, Pa., died Friday, October 27, 2006, in the Veterans Administration Hospital, Aspinwall. He was born April 14, 1950, the son of the late Rachel J. Dolan Matthews.

“Junior” was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1968 and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed playing bingo at the New Haven Hose Co. and he will be greatly missed by his “bingo buddies”.

He is survived by two sisters, Barbara J. Ambrosini of Connellsville and Darlene Nicklow of Greensboro, Georgia; one brother, Charles Matthews and his wife, Patty of Connellsville; his nieces and nephews: Bridgette Bishop and her husband, Tim of Connellsville, Chad Matthews and his wife, Dione of Scottdale, Pa., Nicci Moore and her companion, Jim of Hull, Georgia, Heidi Sartain and her husband, the Rev. Daniel Sartain of Pendergrass, Georgia and Ashley Ambrosini of Connellsville; his great-nieces: Ashton, Rachel, Cassidy, Baileigh and Lauren and his great-nephews, Wesley and Tyler.

Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 9 p.m. on Monday in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME, INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., where services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday with the Rev. Daniel Sartain officiating.

Interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.
