Eberly joins bank his family founded
A member of the family that helped found National City Bank is joining the financial institution’s Private Client Group (PCG). National City has named Robert E. Eberly III, grandson of the late Robert Eberly, who, with his father Orville, founded Gallatin National Bank, which evolved through various mergers into National City, as vice president, private banker
“I am very happy to be joining the National City team. It’s something I have looked forward to and I am excited about the opportunity to come on board,’ Eberly, 36, said.
“I basically grew up in the bank. This is my first foray into the National City family.’
Eberly said he thinks his family is pleased with the move. “I haven’t heard anything to the contrary, and I wouldn’t expect to. The family still does its banking at National City.’
Married and expecting his first child in December, Eberly said he will work as one of a team of National City’s Private Client Group who serve the needs of private client customers.
“As a team, we are able to accommodate all of the banking needs of the customers whether that is something as simple as regular checking or savings banking needs to financing any loans they would need, managing investment portfolios to creating foundations, trusts or estate planning. All of these things fall under the team and the services they provide,’ he said.
According to National City Bank, Eberly will work very closely with the National City retail branches and small business bankers, especially in the Fayette/Greene county areas. He will report directly to John Mills, senior vice president, Private Client Group.
Most recently, Eberly served as consultant for Deloitte & Touche, working primarily within the business process and enterprise risk service environments.
“We are very excited about Robert’s arrival and confident that his addition to our client-focused team will allow us to continue to deliver on our commitment to provide expert investment guidance and raise the bar in terms of personalized and tailored service to high-net-worth individuals,” Mills said.
Eberly’s family has a long-standing tradition of serving the financial services industry in Fayette County and Uniontown. His grandfather, Robert Eberly Sr., and great grandfather, Orvile Eberly, were cofounders of Gallatin Bank. “Robert is a very special addition to our Private Client Group, ” explained Mills. “The Eberly family is synonymous with banking excellence and commitment to the local community. We are delighted to add Robert to our team and continue this legacy in Uniontown.”
National City has been serving the needs of the Fayette and Greene counties for well over 100 years. The addition of Eberly continues this strong legacy of service to the area, Mills added.
Eberly earned a bachelor of science degree and a master’s of science degree from the University of Pittsburgh, as well as a master’s of business administration degree from the Joseph M. Katz Graduate School of Business, University of Pittsburgh. In addition, he is a trustee of the Eberly Foundation and an executive committee member of the Pittsburgh Vintage Grand Prix. He also co-chairs and volunteers for various organizations in the area.
National City Bank said its Private Client Group is the cornerstone of wealth management at the bank and delivers comprehensive financial solutions to high-net-worth individuals and families with $1 million or more in investable assets.
