Pal’s Social Ladies The Pal’s Club Social Ladies Auxiliary will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The meeting will also feature a dinner of roast beef, mashed potatoes and gravy. Members are asked to bring a covered dish of their choice.
Joanne Grassi will donate the $5 door prize.
The Christmas party will be held on Dec. 10 at 3 p.m. at the Pal’s Club Social Hall. Members are asked to pay $5 toward their meal
Dues of $15 will be accepted until Dec. 31.
Italian Ladies
The Italian Ladies Club will meet at 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Italian Club Hall. Old and new members are invited to come and enjoy an evening of fun and fellowship.
Installation service
There will be a service to install the Rev. Geoff Rach as pastor of the McClellandtown and Grace Chapel Presbyterian Churches on Nov. 12 at 4 p.m. The service will be held at the McClellandtown Presbyterian Church with a dinner to follow.
Early dismissal
The Albert Gallatin Area School District will have an Act 80 Day in all schools on Tuesday. All schools will be addressing curriculum issues that afternoon.
Students will be dismissed early on Tuesday. The Albert Gallatin High School will dismiss at 11 a.m., North and South middle schools will dismiss at 11:45 a.m. and all elementary schools will dismiss at 12:15 p.m.
Halloween party
The Masontown Fish and Game Club will hold a Halloween party on Saturday beginning at 4 p.m.
A gun and cash bash will be held at the club on Nov. 11. Refreshments will be available and tickets are $10 each and guests are $20 each at the door.
Las Vegas Night
A cash bash and Las Vegas Night will be held on Nov. 11 at All Saints Social Hall and sponsored by Fayette Friends of Animals. All proceeds benefit the shelter, a no-kill animal shelter located at 223 Searights Herbert Road. For more information, call 724-245-7815. Masontown U.M. Church
On Sunday, Oct. 29, the Masontown United Methodist Church will celebrate All Saints Day, as it is the Sunday closest to Nov. 1, the official day.
A red rose will be placed on the altar in memory of a deceased loved one who was a member of the church and who died since last All Saints Day.
Adult Sunday School class and the Pastor’s Class (grades 6 and up) meets on Sunday mornings at 9:45. Bible Club is held on Thursday afternoon from 4 to 6 for children in preschool to fifth grade.
The Christian Education includes music, games, snacks, crafts and a lesson. Students do not need to belong to the church to attend. Youth group, for youth in middle school and high school, meets on Sunday evenings at 7. Rev. Lewis teaches Bible study to the adults on Tuesday evenings at 7. Klondike Clergy
The churches of Masontown and McClellandtown will work together on a community service project on Saturday. The plan is to pick up the litter at the intersection of Route 21 and Main Street of Masontown (the cloverleaf). Trash bags will be provided. Volunteers will meet at the underpass at 9 a.m. For more information, contact Rev. Lewis at 724-583-9207.
Community meal
A free community meal will be held at the Masontown Presbyterian Church on Tuesday from 5 to 7 p.m. Public is invited to attend.
Dine and donate
All Saints Regional School is announcing a great way to earn money for its school in conjunction with Eat ‘n Park Restaurants called “Dine & Donate.” All that is required is to present a specific coupon at the register after dining at Eat & Park Restaurants from Nov. 1 through the 21 and 10 percent of the check will be donated back to All Saints Regional School. Coupons are available from any parent of All Saints Regional School or by calling 724-583-2141.
Friends of the Library
The Friends of the German-Masontown Library will hold a Christmas party at the Lardin House at noon on Dec. 6. Entree choices are: stuffed chicken breast, stuffed pork roast, or New England cod.
Dinners include entree, salad, potato, vegetable, dessert, and beverage. Cost of the dinner with tax and gratuity included is $21. Sheets to mark dinner selection may be picked up at the library or at the next Friends of the Library meeting. Reservations must be prepaid and given to Anita Nolle or dropped off at the library by Nov. 21. Checks should be made payable to: Friends of the Library.
There will be a $5 gift exchange. Gifts are to be of a snowman theme. The giver of the gift should insert her nametag inside the wrapped gift. Each member who attends should also bring a wrapped $1 gift to be used as a prize for Christmas bingo.
Friends of Library meeting
The next Friends of the German-Masontown Library meeting will be held on Nov. 14 at noon in the library. Members are to note the day change for this meeting.
Craft show
The Albert Gallatin Area High School Class of 2007 will hold its indoor holiday craft show on Nov. 18 in the high school cafeteria.
Exhibit hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and door prizes will be given away throughout the day. Food and beverage items will be available for purchase.
Rosary Society
The Rosary Society at St. Mary’s Church, Leckrone, will hold a turkey bingo in the social hall on Nov. 5 at 2 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
