Brandon Statzula, age 16, of Malden, Brownsville, Pa., passed from this life on Thursday, October 26, 2006, in UPMC Children’s Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa., following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born November 3, 1989, in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the son of Christopher Statzula and Betty Reiger Statzula of Malden, Pa.

Brandon was an 11th grade honor student at Beth-Center High School where he played on the Junior Varsity and Varsity Football teams and was a member of the Beth-Center Leo Club.

He was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville.

Brandon enjoyed movies, hanging out with his friends and playing video games. He had a great love for football.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are a brother, Christopher Statzula, at home and a sister, Alicia Statzula, at home; paternal grandfather and grandmother, John and Jacqualine Statzula of Perryopolis, Pa.; maternal grandfather and grandmother, Howard and Sandy Kirkpatrick of Malden, Pa.; paternal great-grandmother, Josephine Angelo of Perryopolis; two aunts: Michelle Webster and her husband, Todd, of Littleton, Colorado, and Marsha Androsik and her husband, David, of Perryopolis; three cousins: Abby Webster, Hannah Webster and Meghan Androsik.

Deceased are his maternal great-grandparents, Arnold and Betty Anderson, and paternal great-grandparents, John and Cecilia Statzula and Samuel Angelo.

Friends will be received on Sunday and Monday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street (Route 40), Beallsville, Pa.

Friends will gather on Tuesday, October 31, for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville with the Reverend Father Vincent Gigliotti as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in Saint John The Baptist Cemetery, Perryopolis, Pa.

Saint Peters Parish will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 6 p.m.

The Beth Center Leo Club will hold a Service of Remembrance on Monday at 7 p.m.
