Stella (Stefanie) Krizanek Rattay
Stella (Stefanie) Krizanek Rattay, 89, died peacefully on August 30, 2006. Stephanie was born on July 4, 1917, in Shoaf, Pa., the daughter of the late Valentine and Maria Krizanek.
She was preceded in death by her husband George, Sister, Helen Pollak, and brother, Frank Krizanek.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children: Jerome Rattay and wife, Kate of Panama City, Fla., Conrad Rattay and wife, Judy of Ashley, Mich., George, Rosemary, and Sylvia Rattay; and daughter, Jean Marie DeBord and husband, George of New Orleans, La.; brother-in-law, Martin Rattay and wife, Ann Marie; grandchildren, Teri Kay Ferguson and husband, Lon, David Rattay and wife, Cindi, Jerry, Mary, Emily and Marc Rattay, and Anthony and Christina Tiberi; five great-grandchildren; one great great-granddaughter; many nieces and nephews; and one very special niece, Jeanne Pollak Beatty.
Stella’s most precious gift was love, which she gave unconditionally, her kind, warm, generous nature was recognized by everyone, especially children and animals. She lived a simple life, enjoying her family friends, music, flowers, and her pets.
Stella was a devout catholic, always putting her faith and trust in God. She was very patriotic and loved telling everyone she was born on the 4th of July.
The family would like you to not dwell on her death, but to remember a life well lived. To all who knew her, we were truly blessed.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main Street, Masontown, Pa., today, September 2, 2006, until 9:30 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m., in our Lady of Perpetual Help, Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa., with Rev. Father Donald P. Trexler as Celebrant.
Interment will be held at Saint Mary’s Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa.
Saint Mary’s Rosary Society will recite the Rosary today at 3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Saint Mary’s Roman Catholic Church, Leckrone, Pa.
