Thomas W. Kudyba
Thomas W. Kudyba, 74, of York, Pa., formerly of Allison, Pa. and Cleveland, Ohio, died on Thursday, August 31, 2006, in Manor Care Kingston Court. He was affectionately known as “JR” to his friends and family. Thomas was born July 16, 1932, in Allison, Pa., the son of the late Joseph and Stephina (Liptinsky) Kudyba.
He had worked as a trucking dispatcher and retired in 1994 after 40 years of service and he was a member of Saint Joseph Church in York.
Thomas was a loving husband and father. He was the husband of Georgine (Cada) Kudyba for 36 years who survives.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters: Cathy and her husband, John Mendenhall of York and Karen and her husband, Joseph Curran of Lower Gwynedd, Pa.; four grandchildren: Thomas, Madeline, Brandon and Jacqueline; six siblings: Paul Kudyba of Warren, Ohio, Ann Sabo of Aurora, Ohio, Bernard Kudyba of Brownsville, Pa., Mary Kudyba of Baltimore, Maryland, Katie Hughes of Baltimore, Maryland and Andrew Kudyba of York.
He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Joseph, John, Edward, Albert and Elizabeth Kudyba.
Thomas loved spending time with his grandchildren, golfing and socializing with his friends. Thomas was also an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. He will be sadly missed by his family.
Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 4 and from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, in the JOHN W. KEFFER FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, INC., 902 MT. ROSE AVENUE, YORK, Pa., (717-792-3239) with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11 a.m. in Saint Joseph Church, 2935 Kingston Road, York. The Rev. Robert McCreary, OFM Cap will officiate. Burial will be in Holy Savior Cemetery.
