Francis ‘Frank’ Zaffina

Francis “Frank” Zaffina, 76, of Mount Pleasant and a longtime Scottdale resident, died Saturday, September 2, 2006, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. Frank was the owner and operator of the Scottie News in Scottdale for the past 22 years. He was also the former owner of the former Tastee Freeze on Route 119, Connellsville. Previous years of employment were held at Westinghouse, Robertshaw Controls and PAN AM, at Cape Canaveral, Florida.

Surviving are his wife, Pauline F. Yourich Zaffina; daughters: Kathleen F. Harrold and husband, Kenneth A. of Greensburg and Donna M. Grandinetti and husband, Nicholas of Mount Lebanon; three granddaughters; brother and sisters: Felix Zaffina and wife, Frances of Scottdale, Theresa Marhefka of New Stanton, Angeline Blackburn of Scottdale and Catherine Kiliany and husband, Albert of Scottdale.

Frank’s family will greet friends this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home, 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Pa.
