Raymond Rice of Martin Road, Scottdale, Pa., United States Army Korean War Veteran, Sergeant and Platoon Leader, who was in the battles of Boot Hill and also Pork Chop Hill, self-employed contractor for over 50 years in Scottdale and surrounding communities, died early Sunday morning, September 3, 2006, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. He was 74. “Ray” is survived by his wife of 53 years, Dolores J. Hall Rice, whom he married November 3, 1952; daughters and son: Nadine and her husband Chelsie Armel and Katheryn and her husband Gary Hull all of Scottdale, Pa., and Ricky R. Rice of Port Saint Lucie, Florida; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters and brother: Irene Killinger Schmuck of Scottdale, Twila Uber of Mount Pleasant, Pa., and Earl Rice and his wife, Dee, of Holly, Michigan.

Family will greet friends in the Frank Kapr Funeral Home Inc., 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Pa., on Wednesday, September 6, from 1 until the service at 7 p.m.
