Edward Miller
Edward Miller, 84, of Masontown, formerly of Cycle Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2006, with his family by his side. For the past six years, he had resided with his daughter and son-in-law in Masontown. He was born on July 28, 1922, in Oliver 1 the son of the late Violet Miller Wilson.
Edward was a World War II veteran with the United States Army where he served in Europe from 1942-1945 as a machine gun operator.
He was a coal miner all of his life having worked for various United States Steel Mining Companies and retiring from the Robena Mines. He was a proud UMWA member and a member of the American Legion Post 51 in Uniontown.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Violet Miller Wilson, his wife, Virginia L. Griffith Miller, and an infant son, David Edward Miller.
Surviving are his son, Terry L. Miller, Sr. of Saint Petersburg, Fla.; and his daughter, Diana J. Miller Parnell Dubovich and husband, George of Masontown; two grandsons: Robert L. Parnell and wife, Genevieve of North Carolina and David E. Parnell and fianc?e, Michelle McDonald of Monongahela, Pa.; and one great-grandson, Joshua David Parnell. Also, a long time dear friend, Helen Rizzutto of Freedom, Pa.
Friends will be received in the DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday, September 8, 2006, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, September 9, 2006 from 11 to noon, the hour of service with the Rev. Art Mace officiating.
Interment will follow in Park Place Cemetery, Uniontown, Military Rites will be accorded by American Legion Post 51, and VFW Post 8543.
