Anna K. Matty

Anna K. Matty, 103, of Brownsville, Pa., died September 4, 2006, in the Parish House, Perryopolis, Pa., where she was a resident. She was born May 17, 1903, in Zborov, Czechoslovakia, daughter of the late Jan and Katarina Kutosovic. She came to the United States in 1918 and has resided in the Brownsville area since that time.

She worked at the English Tea Room and Palace Studio in Brownsville prior to becoming a homemaker. She was married to Michael T. Matty from June 29, 1925 until his death on September 21, 1978.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by six brothers.

She was a former member of Saint Mary s Roman Catholic Church in Brownsville, Pa.

Surviving are her daughters: Ann L. Pore of Brownsville, Irene M. Durda of Annapolis, Md., Helen M. Vickers of North Tonawanda, N.Y., Betty J. Labin and husband, Ed of Chester Va.; one son, Richard A. Matty of El Paso, Texas; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., on Saturday, September 9, 2006, from 9 to 10 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. in the Historic Church of Saint Peter, Brownsville, Pa., with the Rev. Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant.

Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
