Gerald William Parker
Gerald William Parker, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 7, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on August 5, 1923, in Menallen Township, Pa., son of John and Elizabeth (Fee) Parker.
His parents, beloved wife, Ethel, sisters, Viola, Lauretta, Pearl Parker, Lila Callahan, Eleanor Kaufman and Margarite Parker and brothers, Earl and Harold Parker preceded him in death.
Gerald was lovingly known by his family and friends as “Pap”. He married Ethel Mae (Swaney) Parker in 1951. She preceded him in death in 1990.
He retired from Fike’s Dairy and was a member of Teamsters Local Union 491. In the past, he had also been a driver for Garner Dairy and Union Supply in Dearth, Pa. and he worked in various coalmines.
Left to cherish his memory are four children: Sharon Snowdon and husband, Harry of Uniontown, Pa., Gerald Parker, II and wife, Rose of Smithfield, Pa., Cheryl Czuchan and husband, Joe and Tim Parker and wife, Sherry all of Uniontown; ten grandchildren: Jeff Snowdon and wife, Anna, Shelby Snowdon and companion Patrick Kelly, Olivia, Gerald III and Courtney Parker, Stephanie, Katie and Joey Czuchan and Sarah and Emily Parker; three great-grandchildren: Jeffrey, Skylar and Savanna Snowdon; a sister-in-law, Helen Parker of Uniontown, Pa.; and a brother-in-law, Earl Swaney, II of Collier, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Monday, September 11, 2006, until 11 a.m. the hour of Service with the Rev. Gerald Capan officiating.
Interment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
