Barbara Joyce Marva Callahan
Barbara Joyce Marva Callahan, 59, of Burke, Virginia and more recently of Frederick, Maryland, died early Wednesday afternoon, September 6, 2006, in Frederick. She was born in Uniontown, Pa., on July 29, 1947, the daughter of Tony A. and Catherine L. Hanzely Marva both whom reside in Uniontown.
A graduate from California University, Ms. Callahan was a mathematics teacher at JEB Stuart High School in Fairfax County, Virginia with 30 years of service to the profession. She was of the Catholic faith.
She was a devoted mother and daughter who enjoyed gardening and flowers, as well as, scrap booking. As retirement neared, Ms. Callahan was looking forward to traveling extensively.
Surviving, besides her parents, is her son, Brian James Callahan ad wife, Mary Elizabeth of Norfolk, Virginia; siblings: Judy Parker and husband, Frank of Frederick, Tony Marva and wife, Susan of Easton, Maryland, Kathy Peregoy and husband, Scott of Houston, Texas, James Marva and wife, Chris of Uniontown and Teresa Marva of Harpers Ferry, West Virginia; as well as, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
The STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., is handling the local arrangements. There will not be calling at the funeral home.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, at 10 a.m. in SAINT CYRIL AND METHODIUS ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, FAIRCHANCE, Pa. The Rev. Father Andrew M. Kawecki will Celebrate the Mass.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
