Gerald William Parker
Gerald William Parker, age 83, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, September 7, 2006, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia. He was born on August 5, 1923, in Menallen Township, Fayette County, Pa., the son of John Parker and Elizabeth (Fee) Parker.
Gerald was lovingly known by his family and friends as “Pap”.
He married Ethel Mae (Swaney) Parker in 1951. She preceded him in death in 1990.
He retired from Fike’s Dairy and was a member of Teamsters Local Union 491.
In the past, he had also been a driver for Garner Dairy and Union Supply in Dearth, Pa., and he also had worked in various coalmines.
In addition to his beloved wife, Ethel Mae (Swaney) Parker, he was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Viola, Lauretta, Pearl Parker, Lila Callahan, Eleanor Kaufman and Margarite Parker, and brothers, Earl Parker and Harold Parker.
Left to cherish his memory are four children: Sharon Snowdon and her husband, Harry, of Uniontown, Pa., Gerald Parker II and his wife, Rose, of Smithfield, Pa., Cheryl Czuchan and her husband, Joe, and Tim Parker and his wife, Sherry, all of Uniontown, Pa.; ten grandchildren: Jeff Snowdon and his wife, Anna, Shelby Snowdon and her companion, Patrick, Kelly Parker, Olivia Parker, Gerald Parker III, Courtney Parker, Stephanie Czuchan, Katie Czuchan, Joey Czuchan, Sarah Parker and Emily Parker; three great-grandchildren: Jeffrey Snowdon, Skylar Snowdon and Savanna Snowdon; a sister-in-law, Helen Parker of Uniontown, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Earl Swaney II of Collier, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, September 11, 2006) until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Gerald Capan officiating.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m.
