Louis S. ‘Lou’ George
Louis S. “Lou” George, age 82, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, September 7, 2006, in his residence with his loving family at his side. He was born January 25, 1924, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Simon J. and Julia George.
Mr. George owned and operated Lou’s Barber Shop in Uniontown for many years and later managed the Gallatin Apartments for 20 years.
He was a veteran of World War II who had served Honorably in the United States Army.
He was a member of Saint George Maronite Catholic Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, four brothers, John J. George, George George, Thomas George and Lizzale George, a sister, Mary George Crackovich, and a son, Elias Joseph George in 1966.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Lou Daugherty George; five children: Louis George Jr. and his wife, Sherry, of Homestead, Florida, Mark D. George and his wife, Pamela, and Parrish George all of Uniontown, Pa., Tracy Schiffbauer and her husband, Mark, of Fairchance, Pa., and Elsie Hartsek and her husband, John, of Hopwood, Pa.; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Elias George of Carmichaels, Pa., and Faris George of West Palm Beach, Florida.
Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today (Monday, September 11) until 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint George Maronite Catholic Church, Lebanon Terrace, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father Joseph R. David as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Service of Ghinnaz was held in the Funeral Home on Sunday evening at 8 p.m.
