Nina Carson McLuckey

Nina C. (Carson) McLuckey, age 81, of Connellsville, Pa., and who had been a recent resident of the South Connellsville Personal Care Home, passed away peacefully with her loving family at her side on Sunday, September 10, 2006, while in the Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. She was born April 10, 1925, in Perryopolis, Pa., the daughter of John A. Carson and Alma Pearson Carson.

Nina graduated from the former Perry Township High School with the class of 1943. She also graduated from the Grace Martin Secretarial School in Pittsburgh, Pa.

Nina had been a resident of Connellsville since 1952.

She had been head of the Fayette County Tax Claim Bureau for 20 years.

She was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Connellsville and the Church Choir for many years.

Nina served as Judge of Elections for the 5th Ward in Connellsville for many years.

She was a member and Past Regent of The Daughters of the American Colonists and a former member of The Order of The Eastern Star No. 247 in Connellsville.

Nina was an avid bridge player and enjoyed playing bridge with many of her friends throughout the years.

Nina was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Robert P. McLuckey, in 1982 and a sister, Imogene Carson Forrest.

Nina will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving family: her children: Nina Jane Yuhas and her husband, Joseph, of Fayetteville, Pa., Robert A. McLuckey and his wife, Becky, of Connellsville, Pa., Marcia Petko and her husband, William, of Connellsville, Pa., and David C. McLuckey of Sewell, New Jersey; her beloved grandchildren: Kimberly Ann Humphreies and her husband, David, of Catlett, Virginia, Robert S. McLuckey and his wife, Susan, of South Connellsville, Pa., Keith Yuhas and his wife, Melinda, of Frederick, Maryland, William Petko and his wife, Shelley, of Uniontown, Pa., David Petko of Greensburg, Pa., Kerri Humes and her husband, Charles, of Washington, Pa., Kristi Burgh and her husband, Paul, of Hunker, and Pa., and Matthew McLuckey of Cleveland, Ohio; her loving great-grandchildren: Taylor Napolillo, Zachary McGuinness, Bobby McLuckey, Madison Humphreies, Hunter Humphreies, Kiersten Yuhas, Aidan Yuhas and Sydney Petko; her brother, J. Allen Carson of Perryopolis, Pa.; and her sister, Helen Rae Carson Stahl of Mission Viejo, California.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 9 p.m. in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 East Green Street, Connellsville, Pa., where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday, September 14, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Craig Forsythe officiating.

A Committal Service and interment will follow in the Mount Washington Cemetery, Perryopolis, Pa.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Wesley Church Health Center, 410 South Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, PA 15425 in memory of Nina Carson McLuckey.
