Thelma M. Shazer Petrosky

Thelma M. Shazer Petrosky, age 83, of Perryopolis, Pa., passed away Saturday, September 9, 2006. She was born April 2, 1923, in Vanderbilt, Pa., the daughter of Joseph Shazer and Rebecca Fuller Shazer.

Thelma was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ, Vanderbilt, Pa., Ladies Uplift Circle and the Perryopolis Senior Citizens.

She was the former owner of Thelma’s Motel and also Petrosky Lounge.

Thelma is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Charlotte Sapko of Smithton, Pa.; and two sons: Charles W. Petrosky Jr. and his wife, Pam, of Perryopolis, Pa., and Ronald L. Petrosky and his wife, Katherine, of Belle Vernon, Pa. She has nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Thelma also has one sister, Mrs. Geraldine Addis Jr. and her husband, Ronald, of Vanderbilt, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Charles W. Petrosky Sr., and one son, Donald R. Petrosky.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Visitation continues on Tuesday, September 12, in THE CHURCH OF JESUS CHRIST, VANDERBILT, Pa., from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Elder Jason Monaghan officiating and Elder Richard Lowther co-officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bowman-Flatwoods Cemetery, Vanderbilt R.D. 1, Pa.

Visitation was also held Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
