Irene Marciniak Repa
Irene Marciniak Repa, 84, of Loyalton of Harrisburg, Pa., and formerly of Rutherford and West Hanover Township, passed away Monday, September 11, 2006, in the Community General Osteopathic Hospital, Lower Paxton Township. She was born in New Salem, Pa., on June 27, 1922, the daughter of the later Walter and Laura Klan Marciniak
Irene retired from the now former Kinney Shoe Corporation where she was a stitcher.
She was a 1940 graduate of the former Redstone High School.
Irene was a member of the Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, Lower Paxton Township. She was a former member of Saint Margaret Mary’s Roman Catholic Church where she served on the Actor’s Guild and performed in many of the church’s pageants. Irene was a talented seamstress and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles.
Irene was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Joseph M. Repa on January 24, 1997.
She is survived by five sons, Leonard J. Repa husband of Juliann of Lower Paxton Township, Donald Repa husband of Dava of Duncannon, Bernard Repa husband of Veronica of San Dimas, California, Richard Repa husband of Janice of Elizabethtown, and Gerald Repa husband of Linda of Swatara Township; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, September 15, 2006, at 11:30 a.m. in the Holy Name of Jesus Roman Catholic Church, 6190 Allentown Boulevard, Harrisburg, with the Rev. Msgr. Robert E. Lawrence as celebrant.
Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, West Hanover Township.
Friends are invited to call for a viewing on Friday in the church from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services.
