James V. “Smitty” Smith, 93, of Mount Pleasant, Pa., died Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in Excela Health Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the United States Army Air Corps. Before he retired, he was the owner operator of the former Smith’s Esso and Apache Camper Sales, in Mount Pleasant. He also was a Pennsylvania Deputy Game Warden.

His daughter, Melissa Coffman and husband, James D. of Mount Pleasant; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; nieces and a special friend, Ethel Cooper of Mount Pleasant, survive him.

Friends will be received in the Galone-Caruso’s Funeral Home, 204 Eagle Street, Mount Pleasant, Pa., today, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 and on Saturday until 11 a.m.
