Marie C. Stofan, age 85, of Wickhaven, Pa., passed away Saturday, September 16, 2006. She was born October 4, 1920, in Gates, Fayette County, Pa., the daughter of Karl Kaifes and Mary Bauer Kaifes.

Marie was a member of Saint John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church in Perryopolis, Pa., and its Altar Society. She was also a member of the S.N.P.J.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Albert Kaifes, and one sister, Caroline Kaifes Kusar.

Marie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Albert J. Stofan; four sons: Albert F. Stofan and his wife, Cheryl, of Cleveland, Ohio, Vincent C. Stofan and his wife, Kathleen, of Richmond, Virginia, Richard C. Stofan and his wife, Amy, of Belle Vernon, Pa., and David J. Stofan and his wife, Lori, of Connellsville, Pa. She was the loving grandmother of six grandchildren: Christopher, Carly Anne, Kelly Lynn, Laura, Mark and Jonathan. She had one brother, Charles Kaifes and his wife, Evelyn, of Belle Vernon, Pa.

Friends will be received in the BLAIR-LOWTHER FUNERAL HOME INC., 106 East Independence Street, Perryopolis, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, September 19, at 9:30 a.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint John The Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis, with the Rev. Father John T. Euker as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in West Newton Cemetery, West Newton, Pa.

A Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home this evening at 8 p.m.

Visitation was also held Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
