Katherine D. McVey, 90, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Monday, September 18, 2006, in Uniontown Hospital. She was born February 6, 1916, in Leith, Pa., a daughter of Anthony and Anna (Jancosek) Bartos.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Fred, son, Donald K., sisters, Mary, Anna, Rose, Sophia and Margaret and brothers, Frank and Anthony.

Katherine was a mother without equal.

Left to cherish her memory is her sons, Fred (Betty Jane) McVey, James T. (Marilyn) McVey and Lawrence F. (Virginia M.) McVey; daughter-in-law, Edna McVey of Southbury, Connecticut; 10 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a sister, Elizabeth Turianica of Youngstown, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, Pa., on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. in Saint Therese Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Kenneth G. Zaccagnini as celebrant.

Internment will follow in Sylvan Heights cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
