Rose Marie Lent

Rose Marie Lent, 94, of East Millsboro, Pa., passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 17, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital with her loving family by her side. Rose was born in Grays Landing, Pa., the daughter of the late Patsy and Fortuna Gimmelli Marano. She was raised in Fairchance, Pa.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, John Lent, a son, Russell, two granddaughters, Regina and Gina Marie Furlong, sisters, Margaret Bertan and Philomena Marano; brothers, Tony, Russell, James, Carmen, John and Samuel Marano.

Rose spent the last 70 years as a homemaker and prominent figure in the East Millsboro community. A great Italian cook, Rose was well known for her spaghetti and meatballs as well as her pizza. She was also a talented crocheter.

Rose was a member of Saint James Roman Catholic Church and was active in all church functions throughout her life. She was also a longtime member of the Christian Mothers at Saint James.

Rose also served on the Election Board in East Millsboro for many years.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, John A. Lent and wife Ying of Drexel Hill, Pa.; daughters, Mary Ann Furlong and husband Harry of Brownsville, Pa. and Roseanna Kozup and husband John of Uniontown, Pa.; 12 grandchildren, Laura Barrett and husband Ed, Andi Murta and husband Dave, John V. Lent, Lisa Lent, Shahnon Lent, Xian Liu, Kimberly Creasy and husband Rich, Dina Lent, Scott Furlong, Renee Furlong, John C. Kozup and wife Heaven, Kevin Kozup and wife Amy; 11 great-grandchildren, Lacey, Nathan, Haley and Ryan Barrett, Michael and Alex Murta, Dayna Cronin, Scott and Brandon Furlong, Wallace Bakewell and Bella Kozup; sister and favorite traveling companion, Fortuna Leydig of Jeannette, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Mary Marano of Ohio, Ann, Elizabeth and Mary Marano, all of Fairchance; brother-in-law, Steve Bertan of Carmichaels; and many special nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10 a.m. in Saint James Roman Catholic Church in Labelle, Pa., with the Rev. Father Vincent Gigliotti as celebrant.

Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park.
