Charley Kelly, an attorney for the Herald-Standard, said he plans to ask Fayette County Judge Steve Leskinen for permission to file a direct appeal with the Supreme Court if he doesn’t dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by state Rep. H. William DeWe ese against the paper. The Herald-Standard incorrectly reported in a story Wednesday that Kelly would file the appeal with Commonwealth Court.
