1 min read

The 69th annual Halloween parade will be held at 6 p.m. Oct. 25 in downtown Uniontown. Those who plan to walk in the parade should congregate in the parking lot at Gallatin Avenue and Penn Street at 5:15 p.m. Bands will line up from East Penn Street to the Fayette County courthouse. Mummers and small floats will line up off Penn Street.

The parade will move south on Gallatin Avenue, then turn west onto Main Street to the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 hall. There, they will be judged and cash prizes will be awarded in all age groups, including a prize for best costume. The parade marshal will be Lou Giachetti of Uniontown.

The parade will go on rain or shine, and all mummers will get tickets for two cash drawings.

The bands participating in the parade include those from Uniontown, Laurel Highlands, Frazier and Brownsville school districts. The Geibel High School band and the VFW Post 47 National Band also will participate.

Political advertising and participation is not permitted in the parade.

VFW Post 47 in Uniontown and the radio stations Froggy 94.9 and Pickle 99.3 are sponsoring the parade.
