Virgil J. Harris

Virgil J. Harris, 83, of Point Marion, Pa., died Wednesday, September 20, 2006, in his home. He was a United States Army veteran of World War II.

He studied as an abstract artist, and was an inventor holding several United States Patents.

Mr. Harris worked for a while as a barber, and as a traveling salesman of advertising goods and novelties.

A sister, Hazel Christian of Seattle, Washington; nieces; a cousin; friend, Eva Canney; and close friends and caregivers, Archie and Ina Moats, survives him.

Friends will be received in the Richard R. Herod Funeral Home, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pa. on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Monday until 11 a.m.
