John Earl Ryan
John Earl Ryan, 80, of Dunbar, Pa., died Friday, September 22, 2006, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 25, 1926, in Dunbar, Pa., the son of the late James Aloysius Ryan and the late Beatrice McVey Ryan.
He retired from Anchor Hocking Cap Corporation, Plant 15, Connellsville, Pa., as a die setter with 32 years of service and was a veteran of the United States Army serving in World War II. He was a member of the American Legion Post 146 Dunbar and the Independent Slovak Club, Connellsville.
He graduated from Dunbar Township High School in 1944 and was a member of the Franklin Memorial United Methodist Church, Dunbar, Pa.
Surviving are his wife of 41 years, Lois Seaton Ryan of Dunbar; two sons: John Kevin Ryan of Dunbar and special friend, Melanie of Latrobe and David Kirby Ryan and wife, Jessica of Connellsville; grandchildren: Stuart and Jessica Ohler, Kelsey, Kasey and Arabella Ryan; sister, Mary D. Ryan of Dunbar; brother-in-law, James H. Seaton of Connellsville; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
John was preceded in death by a brother, James T. McVey and sisters, Violet Nelis and Edith Moore.
Friends will be received in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville Street, Dunbar, Pa., today, September 24, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m., on Monday, September 25, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, September 26, until 2 p.m. the hour of service with the Rev. Jeffrey Popson officiating.
Interment will be in Franklin Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded at graveside.
