Louis E. ‘Bud’ Rudolph

Louis E. “Bud” Rudolph, 83, of Point Marion, Pa., passed away Saturday, September 23, 2006, in his home. He was born May 28, 1923, in Connellsville, Pa., and was raised in Bobtown, Pa., son of the late Samuel and Blanche Bryner Rudolph.

He was the Owner and Funeral Director of the Louis E. Rudolph Funeral Home in Point Marion for 42 years.

He graduated from Point Marion High School in 1941 and was a member of the W.P.I.A.L. class B Championship Basketball team of 1940, a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Navy Air Force as a pilot. A member of Saint Hubert Roman Catholic Church and Treasurer of the Holy Name Society, member of the Knights of Columbus of Uniontown, former Mayor of Point Marion for 10 years and former President of the Borough Council. A member and past President of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, member of Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association and National Funeral Directors Association. A 50 year member of the Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department where he had served as President and Line Officer, life member of the Point Marion V.F.W. Post 747 and American Legion Post 499, Golden Eagle of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 1932, all of Point Marion and past President of the Point Marion Rotary Club. A Charter member of the Pines Country Club of Morgantown, West Virginia, a member of Brother Andre Golf League and the V.F.W. Eagles Golf League.

He was also an avid hunter for many years and loved fishing with his sons and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Madeleine Rible Rudolph; three sons: Thomas B. Rudolph and his wife, Brenda of Point Marion, Michael A. Rudolph and his wife, Marjorie Graznak Rudolph of Greensboro, Pa. and Mark S. Rudolph and his wife, Jodi Ours Rudolph of Ocean, New Jersey; one daughter, Dr. Lisa A. Rudolph Watson and her husband, Ben of Thomasville, Georgia; eight grandchildren: Michael Rudolph, Jr., Kaitlin Rudolph, Emily Rudolph, Alexandra Rudolph, Ted Kell, Julianna Watson, Jocelyn Watson and Hogan Watson; three brothers: Earl Rudolph of Smithfield, Samuel Rudolph of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Howard Rudolph of Leesburg, Florida; two sisters: Betty Johnson of Sun City West, Arizona and Sandra Johnson of Fort Pierce, Florida and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Louis E. Rudolph, Jr. and his sister, Mary Nichols.

Friends will be received in the LOUIS E. RUDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, 15 Main Street, Point Marion, Pa., on Tuesday, September 26, 2006, from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, September 27, 2006, from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, September 28, 2006, until 10:30 a.m. when Prayers will be said in the funeral home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in Saint Hubert Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Father Joseph L. Sredzinski, the Rev. Father Anthony Wozniak and the Rev. Father Lawrence Hoppi as Celebrants.

Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, Pa.

Full Military Rites will be accorded at graveside by the Point Marion V.F.W. and American Legion.

A Parish Rosary Service will be held on Wednesday evening at 8:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
