Ernest W. “Bill” Shaffer, Jr.
Ernest W. “Bill” Shaffer, Jr., 71, of Brownsville, Pa., (Denbeau Heights) died unexpectedly Wednesday, September 27, 2006, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born December 10, 1934, in Alicia, Pa., a son of the late Ernest W. Shaffer, Sr., and Dorothy Jean Shearin Shaffer.
Mr. Shaffer was a 1952 graduate of Brownsville High School and a United States Army veteran.
He was a member of the Taylor United Methodist Church.
Mr. Shaffer worked as a boilermaker for the United States Steel Corporation (USX Corporation) in the Clairton Works. He retired in 1966 after 44 years of service.
On November 13, 1956, he married Connie L. Stewart of Denbeau Heights, who survives.
Surviving in addition to his wife are two daughters: Kim Vorouis and her husband, Dale of Houston, Pa., and Kay Nardis and her husband, Ronald of Washington, Pa.; one grandson, John Botticchio; one sister, Marge Frost of Alicia, Pa.; and one niece, Skye Frost of Alicia, Pa.
Deceased in addition to her parents is a brother, Richard Shaffer.
Friends will be received Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., and Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main Street Beallsville, Pa., where services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, September 30, 2006, with Pastor Edd Myers officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
