Sophie Franks
Sophie Franks, 90, of Allison Park, Pa., and a former longtime resident of Point Marion, Pa., died Monday, September 25, 2006, in the Outlook Point Assisted Living Home in Allison Park. Born Jan. 29, 1916 in Point Marion, she was a daughter of the late Angelo and Angelina Ziccarelli Bruni.
A 1935 graduate of Point Marion High School, she was a member of Saint Hubert’s Roman Catholic Church, the Rosary Altar Society, and past Vice-President of the Golden Pointers, all in Point Marion.
Surviving are her loving daughter, Lelanda Andria of Allison Park; a grandson, Jason Lawrence Andria of Allison Park; two sisters: Elvere Provenzo and Edith Spadafore; a number of nieces and nephews and their families; and her many friends, who will long remember her beautiful smile and her love of telling jokes.
She was predeceased by her husband, Leland Franks on Jan. 4, 1986, a grandson Nathan Andria on Dec. 30, 2001, brothers, Homer, Albert, Fred and Armand, and a sister, Susie Bruni.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Friday from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., Saturday until 10 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m., in Saint Hubert’s Roman Catholic Church, Point Marion, with Rev. Father Joseph Sredzinski as celebrant.
Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion. Parish Rosary will be Friday at 8:30 p.m., in the funeral home.
