Helen Thomas
Helen Thomas, 89, of Monongahela, Pa., formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Friday, September 29, 2006, in the Residence at Hilltop, Carroll Township, Pa. She was born July 26, 1917, in Uniontown, Pa., a daughter of the late George and Helen Bellay Shefcheck.
In prior years, she was employed as a receptionist for Glenn Stillwagon, D.C. Ph.C. in Monongahela and had attended the First Christian Church in Monongahela.
She was the last member of her immediate family.
She is survived by her niece, Virginia McVey and husband Larry of Grindstone, Pa.,; two great-nieces Erin Hart and husband, Dan and Keeley McVey; a great-nephew, Kieran McVey; and her caregivers, Jacqueline Miller and husband, Hugh of Finleyville, Pa.
In addition to her parents and siblings, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold M. Thomas who died on November 16, 2000.
Friends will be received on Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the L.M. FRYE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 427 WEST MAIN STREET, MONONGAHELA, Pa., where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Gerald Demarest officiating.
Committal Services and interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
