Cecil Reuben Smith, age 78, of Ohiopyle, Pa., died Thursday, March 29, 2007, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa. Born May 31, 1928, in Garrett County, Maryland, he was the son of Lawrence Smith and Malinda (Wilt) Smith.

Mr. Smith was a timberman and a United States Army veteran of the Korean War.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Raymond Smith, and three sisters, Freda Smith, Loretta Smith and Ruby Smith.

Surviving are three brothers, Delbert Smith, James Smith and Dale Smith, and one sister, Mary Jane Smith, all of Ohiopyle, Pa.

Friends were received at the NEWMAN FUNERAL HOMES, P.A., 179 Miller Street, Grantsville, Maryland 21536 (301-895-5188) on Saturday, March 31, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Services will be conducted in the Funeral Home today (Sunday, April 1, 2007) at 2 p.m. with Pastor Leonard Orendorf officiating.

Interment will follow in Broadwater Cemetery where Military Honors and Rites will be accorded by the Grantsville American Legion Post 214..
