James Vincent Diehl
James Vincent Diehl, 88, of Lake Lynn, Pa., died Thursday, April 5, 2007, in Collingswood Nursing Home, Rockville, Maryland. Born in Point Marion, Pa., he was the son of John Diehl and Alice Marie McCann Diehl.
A 1937 graduate of Point Marion High School, he was United States Navy veteran of World War II and later graduated from the University of Iowa.
He retired from Monongalia County School System where he was a History and Social Studies teacher at Morgantown High School for over 20 years.
Predeceased are his parents, his wife, Patricia Ann Miller Diehl (July 29, 2003), a son, John Diehl, a sister Cecelia Estadt, and two brothers, Edward and J. Francis Diehl.
He is survived by his daughter, Diana Brown of Germantown, Maryland; four sons: James Diehl Jr., William Diehl and Daniel Diehl all of Fredericksburg, Virginia, and Robert Diehl of Hague, Virginia; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., on Wednesday, April 11, from 10 a.m. until the hour of Service at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Karen Gray officiating.
Interment follows in Evergreen Memorial Park, Point Marion, with military rites accorded at the graveside by the VFW Post 747 and the American Legion Post 499, both of Point Marion.
