Priscilla B. Barath

Priscilla B. Barath, 87, of Vestaburg, Pa., died Friday, April 13, 2007, at 11:26 a.m., in the home of her cousin Marlene West. She was born on February 6, 1920, in West Sunbury, Pa., a daughter of the late John and Priscilla Haynal Biro.

Mrs. Barath was a member of the former First Baptist Church in Brownsville and was attending the East Beth Baptist Church where she enjoyed playing the organ for services.

She was a trained beautician, worked in the Shirt Factory in Brownsville, Pa., and at one time worked for Moss’s Supermarket in Uniontown, Pa.

Mrs. Barath served her country at home during World War II having worked at Railway Express in Cleveland, Ohio, and as a “Rosie the Riveter” at Pullman Standard as a welder in Butler, Pa.

She enjoyed traveling, was an excellent seamstress and had a great talent for music. Mrs. Barath played the organ, piano and the violin, as a youngster she sang in many groups.

Her greatest love was for her family and grandchildren.

She married John S. Barath who died May 10, 1956.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband is her only child, John F. “Buzzy” Barath who died May 13, 2006.

Surviving is a daughter-in-law, Cheryl Barath of Vestaburg, Pa.; three grandchildren: Jessica D. Barath, Rebecca E. Barath and John F. Barath II, all of Vestaburg, Pa.; and a cousin, Marlene West and her husband, Ralph of Fox Chapel, Pa.

Friends will be received on Sunday from 3 to 8 p.m., in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, Pa., where services will be held on Monday, April 15, 2007, at 1 p.m., with the Rev. James Cannon officiating.

Interment will be held in the LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
